The highlighting of some CELLS is interactive grid is EASY. it's doesn't required to be scripted.
Apex has it's own inbuild feature.
The action button is the key for most of the interesting options. So many thing can be achieved if the ACTIONS option is well understood and used.
Simply CLICK the action then go to format and choose highlight.
now here is the tiny trick. The default option is to color the ROW but you change it under the dropdown to have it to reflect the COLUMN on all the possible dropdowns.
that's it !! have your logic defined init and enjoy.
